Indonesian Terrorism Law Still Weak

Jakarta ( ANTARA News) - The head of the Anti - Terror Desk Coordinating Ministry Polhukam , Ansyad Mba `i said , the law governing the issue of terrorism in Indonesia is still weak compared with other countries nearby.

"The law in this country [ fro soft compared to other countries for terrorists , " he said when a speaker in the National Symposium entitled " Breaking the Chain Radicalism And Terrorism " in Jakarta on Wednesday .

Ansyad judge , law enforcement alone can not solve the problem and the movement will not be completed, it will still exist for radical ideology is not neutralized.

The proof , he said , about 250 terrorists who had just come out of prison was back to the people who have an important role in terrorism in this country .

" Length of detention of terrorist detention time here together with a chicken thief , when he said terrorists had an extraordinary crime , " he said.

He also said that Indonesia become a haven for terrorists because Indonesia is surrounded by countries that have laws on terrorism is hard , such as Singapore and Malaysia .

According Ansyad , radicalism and terrorism is a threat to state security , so not only for the police alone to cope.

In addition, he said , by looking at the development of technologies used by terrorists today, we need clear legal umbrella for these deradikalisasi .
